WHY A STORY
Stories open conversations.
History feels closer when it has characters, events and questions. Starting from the book, each milestone opens a conversation about the people, places and moments that changed Romania.
EDUCATION AND CULTURE · ONE-OFF PROJECT · 2026
An interactive journey through Romanian history, alongside Mihai Mănescu’s book.
Bicicleta Regelui (The King’s Bicycle) invites children, parents and teachers to explore history starting from a story. The book, the 12 milestones and the classroom materials create chances to ask, to discover and to learn together.
A Susțin project, co-funded by AFCN (the National Cultural Fund Administration).
WHY A STORY
History feels closer when it has characters, events and questions. Starting from the book, each milestone opens a conversation about the people, places and moments that changed Romania.
We initiated the project and coordinate the platform, connecting the author, history teachers, the publisher and partner institutions. The texts and educational materials are by Mihai Mănescu.
Bicicleta Regelui continues the path of MiniPovești and the Comoara lui Harap-Alb book caravan: reading as a starting point for learning, at home and at school.

HOW YOU CAN USE US
Use the milestones and classroom materials in history or reading lessons. For a meeting with the author or an activity with your pupils, write to us.
Go through the journey together with your child and leave room for questions. A milestone can become the start of a conversation or a museum visit.
We can talk about school visits, new materials or extending the project to more classrooms.
HOW THIS LINKS TO OUR IMPACT AREAS
A story, interactive milestones and free classroom materials bring history closer to children and give teachers resources for active learning.
